Agra is a city offering a discovery of a rich history, reflected in its numerous monuments dotted in and around the city. The earliest citation for Agra comes from the mythological era, where the epic Mahabharata refer Agra as ‘Agravana’ meaning paradise in Sanskrit. ‘Ptolemy’, the famous second century A.D. geographer, was the first person who referred Agra with its modern name. The Modern Agra was founded by Sikandar Lodi, ruler of Lodi dynasty in 16th century. It was when Shah Jahan descended the Mughal throne that Agra reached the zenith of architectural beauty with Taj Mahal. Lying on the bank of River Yamuna this city offers wonderful allure of not only Taj Mahal but a trail of fascinating tombs and mausoleums to explore. Acclaimed for its lavish crafts like Pietra Dura (marble inlay) work, rugs and leather goods, and the luscious Petha, Agra equally caters well to shopaholics and foodies.
Mathura is one of the spiritual and sacred places in India, lined with a number of temples along the roads. It is believed to be the birth land of Lord Krishna. The city is situated in the state of Uttar Pradesh in North India and is one of the seven holy cities of India.
One of the oldest cities on the banks of Yamuna, Vrindavan is considered to be one of the most important places of pilgrimage for the devotees of Krishna. It is said that Lord Krishna had spent his childhood in Vrindavan. The vibrant surroundings of the city perfectly depict the playful and benevolent nature of Lord Krishna. Located along the waters of River Yamuna, the numerous temples set amidst the thick woods and lush greenery of Vrindavan are the major attractions here.

Arrival Agra - Mathura & Vrindavan (60kms / 1:30hrs)
Arrival at Agra Railway station, drive for Mathura & Vrindavan. The holy town of Vrindavan, near Mathura is an important pilgrimage hub in Braj region that attracts an estimated 5,00,000 pilgrims every year. This is the place where Lord Krishna is believed to have spent his childhood. The name of Vrindavan comes from words 'vrinda', which means basil, and 'van' meaning forest. Mathura is one of the seven sacred cities of the Hindus. It is the traditional birthplace of the god Krishna (Krishna Janmabhoomi) and the primary site of pilgrimage for the annual celebration of Janmashtami. On arrival check in into hotel, later proceed for Vrindavan to visit Banke Bihari Temple, Prem Mandir, Pagal Baba Temple. Evening back to Mathura. Overnight stay at Mathura hotel.

Mathura – Agra (60kms/ 1:30hrs)
Today after breakfast check out from Mathura hotel and proceed for explore the Mathura – visit to Lord Dwarkadhish temple, Adi Shri Keshav Dev Maharaj Mandir and Vishramghat. Later drive for Agra - A city on the banks of the Yamuna River. Agra is best known for the Taj Mahal (17th century), designated a UNESCO World Heritage site in 1983. A complex mausoleum, the Taj Mahal is often considered to be the world's best example of Mughal architecture. On arrival check in at hotel. Overnight stay at Agra hotel.

Agra
Today after breakfast proceed for visit to Agra Fort and the world famous Taj Mahal which is a sheer poetry in white marble and its majesty and magnificence are unrivalled. It is the one and only one of its kind in the whole world, which was the ultimate realization of Emperor Shahjehan's dream for his beloved wife Mumtaz Mahal. Dinner & Overnight stay at hotel.
Please note : Taj Mahal is closed on Friday.
